CUT OUT ANIMATION ARTICAL.

Animation is a field in which we can express our ideas using different mediums .

2d animation,3d animation,stop motion animation are some of the mediums of animation. cut out animation is one kind of stop motion animation .

What is cut out animation ?

Cut out is a form of animation in which we use flat character cut outs created by using material like mount boards,thermo col,papers .etc for animation.

What is required?

- Mount board ,thermo col,papers

-, pencil,eraser , glue, cello tape.

- Ribits ( for joints)

- Lights

- Digital camera(with usb attachments)

- Computer

- Table

- Camera rig.

- Light stand or tripod .

How to do?

Story is the most important part of Film, be it animation or live action. Story is decide and finalized first, after that storyboard is created and finalized .

Story board is progressive visual representation of story .characters,backgrounds and all other stuff in the movie are made on the basis of story.

How to do cut out characters ?

1.The charters in the story are sketched and finalized.

2.The sketched is taken on the mount board and the outer shape is cut out .

3.the locomotive parts of the character on mount board are separated and re joint using ribits. Now the character is animatable.

4.After that drawing is pasted on to that and coloured.

5.And the same process is used to develop the backgrounds.

How to build a set?

You need a camera to click snaps. You need a rig to support the camera. You need a computer to transfer the snapshots into the software(monkey jam, Adobe Premiere,Videowave). To create lighting artificial lights are used. The mood of the film decides its lighting. On that basis set the position and its intensity. Simple bulbs can do the job.

How to animate?

According to the action of the character, its pose is set and the snap is taken from the camera for every frame.

After all the shots are done, the raw data is taken to any editing software and the things like transitions, effects and music are added. This was the short description of cut out film making.

Hi,hey..today i am going to post the story board of the short film' Another way '(Which i already posted) which I did .I thought of keeping it stylistic and more simple that time. After the storyboard i pitched in front of our mentors.mentors gave the green signal and we proceed for animation.

Hi,Some more sketches (old stuff).Today I was busy with my project work like story(flow,storyline etc.) then storyboarding ,character designs. I am trying to catch up the ornamental style so its very interesting for me .So today also i didn't do my daily skeching....Oh how lazy am i.

Walk

At last i am able to share this video .I am trying to uploade it from 2 to 3 days but because of technical problem it was not working.but today morning i tackled that problem i posted it.


well,this is my cartoony walk, which I tried a few days back. I did it using adobe flash. I refer the book 'Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair'. At first i did the planing of animation.(now that page is missed)then i create the character in flash then according to planing i did the animation.
Well i am not happy with the animation because its not that much smooth and fluent animation .i will try my best next time.
cartoon animation by preston blair is a very great book. Every animator should follow this book.we can learn many types of runs ,walks from that book. Thanks to all old great animators they left lots of great animation stuff for us for study.

Figure Art.

Hi , these are some figure arts ,i draw it with taking reference.My drawing stocks are still not that much fine and clean so i have to do more scribbling .Currently i am busy with some project .Because of that project i use to draw more on ornamental style drawing so this week i donut have that much life drawings or other drawing .so i am posting some old work.ok bye .have fun.take care.

Don't think that i am fashion designer or something .But i like this style and also that field.

I have to work hard....

Hi,I want to be a character animator ,I know its a most complex part in the animation field and its take a its sweet own time.so i have work hard .I am not that much strong at drawing but i am trying to improve it. i am following the great book just like 'Animation survival kit' , 'Illusion of life', 'Timing for animation' . I am tying to improve my life drawing And figure art so i am doing some practice.
Currently i am following the very great book of Mike Mattesi 'Force ; Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators.so these drawing i copied form this book and took it in to photoshop and gave some wash.
I will post more and more drawing in to the next post.I have to practice a lot ,have to work hard.Have fun and enjoy life.

Another Way...cut out animated short film.

'Another way ' this short film is very special for me and my team .we did it in an over a night for one environment related program.(Vatavaran )

In this film i Came up with the basic idea then we four of us refined it. Then i did a storyboard,Nilabh did all concept sketches (Tree,Earth etc.),vinod did all colour art ,over all look,cut out models and sumit did all set and technical arrangements and me and nilabh wear the animators .I animated 2 shots..Nilabh did the editing.

We enjoyed the work very much.

Yo.....this is our Gang.We all work together in our studio.

Now 1st(Left to Right ) Vinod, texture artist,Good painter,Nilabh All rounder but,Character animator and concept artist and look developer,Digital painter and lodes of thigs .. then Me student of character animaton and Sumit Gamer modeler.
